Biligiri Rangana Betta!

It was my childhood dream that i drive thru a thick forest in the evening/dark and spot wild animals. a week back part of my dream came live when i drove thru the GREEN shiradi ghats.
it was wonderful and a challenging drive considering i was driving with my family although i didn't drive in the dark.
BR hills trip was "FANTASTIC" for many reason. A friend for all seasons Vini was with me continuously telling "we are not doing anything in life". we felt bit bad that most of our friends didn't turn up to the trip. they had their own important work which forced them to miss this trip.
it was only me and him we didn't know where were going to stay and we just knew we were going to BR Hills. we had prepared for worst case to sleep in car or come back to Chamrajnagar.

it was 6 AM in morning when vini joined me and we were in Kamat by 7 AM. Had heavy breakfast and left for BRh. the journey was nice as we played only "hudugaru" songs. we reached BRh by noon!
we came to the forest check post told that we were from RFO family and the guard gave very less importance on that and he just let us in after noting car Reg Number.
We were in Jungle!! drove slowly as we were looking for animals, but didn't spot any.
after driving about 20 KM reached BR hills, and we inquired about Range office and drove up to there. We found a person talking loudly to few and we reached him and told that we were from RFO family. He was Jai-Singh a Forest guard who was in-charge there at that time. he was kind of exited and gave a warm welcome. we told were halting for a day and want to trek and go inside forest and spot few animals.
He was a very talkative person and gave same ideas for trekking in different ways number of times. Meanwhile we roamed around guest house which was at the top of hill. We had nice view of thick dense forest.
Came back and Met Singh is King again. Finally we decided to have lunch Iyengar hotel.Food was good considering we were hungry although hotel was unclean. Before going to lunch Singh introduced us to very special person veera! he is a soliga and he was there to guide us thru the trek. We met him again after lunch and started our trek!

ಒಂದು ಕಾಡಿನ ಮಧ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ:

It was very tiresome trekking. The path was very slippery. As we climbed down we heard birds chirping. They were making nice sounds. Veera took us to small water reservoir and told us that we can see the elephants if we can wait here till 5 PM.It was still 3 30 PM we felt we should continue our trek. By then we heard a kind of barking sound and veer told us it is "kadu Kuri" a baring deer.Barking was heard continuously for next 10-15 minutes from a distance behind us. Veera said we will move now and told he will take us in new route. it was literally a new route. He made the way thru thick bushes. he cut those bushes and let us in. It was really challenging, and paining as well. Veera used to move ahead of us cutting the bushes and make a strange sound and then he used to call us back. He told that he was checking if there are any animals near by.
